UA war poster. Exhibition from Lviv Art Center
Lviv Municipal Art Center — is an art center with a gallery in Lviv, Ukraine, opened in 2020. It is the first institution in the city that was created at the expense of the city budget and aimed at implementing projects in the field of contemporary art. The Art Center is a modern, open and inclusive multifunctional space in Ukraine.
In the first weeks after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the art center accepted forced migrants and provided them with psychological support. Volunteers helped displaced people with food, information, settlements and relocation. Artists who were forced to leave their hometown due to the war presented their works in the Сenter.
The posters of residents of the Lviv Municipal Art Center became an important source of information about the war in Ukraine. You can see part of this collection now at the exhibition in Reykjavík. All these artists are based in Lviv now.
